Welcome to our Virtual Tour of the sanctuary here at Knox Presbyterian Church, Ottawa!
Designed by architect Dr. Henry Sproatt, Knox is a gothic style church where worship began in the sanctuary in 1933. Materials used inside include local Nepean sandstone and Wallace sandstone from Nova Scotia. The sanctuary walls are lined with Savoniere stone from France, the columns and archways (along with the frieze over the elders’ seats) are Devon stone, also from France. The floors, elders’ seats, column bases, pulpit, lectern and baptismal font are all Travertine marble from Italy. The ceiling is B.C. cedar, while the pews, doors, and vestry furnishings are of red oak. We hope you enjoy this brief virtual tour and invite you to join us to see the real thing Sundays at 11.
