Knox is grateful to be able to put on "Out of the Cold" again this year, our weekly meal program serving guests on Saturday evenings, from 4 to 5 pm (with doors opening at 3:30). Starting Saturday, November 2nd, our church will be able to host up to 150 guests in Iona Hall, providing healthy, "homestyle" meals (an entrèe, a dessert, and drinks). The guests get a chance to get out of the cold to enjoy not just a meal, but fellowship with each other and our volunteers.
Knox would not be able to do this without volunteers! About 150 volunteers help out in different ways to keep this major part of our church's mission possible, and more volunteers are always welcomed and encouraged. Each Saturday of the month we have a different team covering that day. Knox is thankful for all our team leaders to return:
This year we welcome our new coordinator for "Out of the Cold": Nic Van Beek. St. Peter's Lutheran Church is also joining with us to volunteer as our Week 5 team, for those months that have an extra Saturday.
The photo of this article is from a planning meeting with our coordinator, Nic, as well as Team 3 leaders, Rob & Kris Burr, and members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Saralyn Lichty, Anisha Eipe, and Rev. Joel Crouse.
