Pastor Jim and Laurie Fyffe were on hand at Ottawa airport on October 24 to welcome Meriam, eldest daughter of the Syrian family, formerly of Aleppo, being sponsored by Knox Church. Their home was destroyed. They, along with other Christians and minorities, were in fear for their lives and sought refuge. Over a year ago members of Knox and philanthropic friends started the process for bringing them to Canada from Lebanon. We are happy that at last we have one member of the family here, while the rest of the family wait for Immigration Canada to make final arrangements for flights to Ottawa, and we pray that they will soon be reunited.
