Life among Jesus' believers -- Over the past weeks we have talked about the experiences of Jesus’ disciples and others following his death on the cross and the glory of his resurrection. Together we have shouted “Alleluia! He is risen!” with Mary Magdalene on Easter morning, stood with Thomas as he spoke with Jesus, and walked with the men who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus. This week we will explore the life among Jesus’ believers in the years that followed these events.
One of the important themes we will explore is the importance of a community in which we support one another and work together to live out our faith in our daily lives. With the current pandemic and the need to be physically isolated from one another, we have daily reminders of our need for contact and caring, even if it can only be done through virtual means. We are also called to find creative ways to support others and to find support for ourselves.
We look forward to meeting together on Sunday to once again share the joy of Easter, and to explore how we can carry Jesus’ message of love and caring into the community that surrounds us. Materials for other related activities that you can use in the coming week are in the attached package from the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum.
Our Zoom gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Please bring several pieces of paper (any recycled or other paper is fine), pencil, crayons or pencil crayons.
