After Sunday worship on October 16th, the Knox church community gathered outside for a Dedication Ceremony of a new arbour in our garden courtyard. With thanks to a generous contribution by Knox member Dr. James Anderson, the beautiful arbour was designed and fabricated by Milligan Iron Works, taking into consideration many architectural features of both the building and heritage of Knox Church, including it's similarity with the many arched doorways, iron fence details, and even Scottish thistles!
Though Dr. Anderson passed away February 21 of this past year while the arbour was still being created, it was very special to have Audrey and Ian, his son and daughter, join us for the dedication and share words of gratitude. We also welcomed Mike Milligan, designer and creator of this great addition to the Knox Garden Courtyard.
When you have time, take a few moments to enjoy the arbour and also the tree planted more than 20 years ago in memory of Dr. Anderson's wife Truus. Finally, check out a short video of how the arbour was created by Mike Milligan and his team at Milligan Iron Works by clicking the link below.
