We are pleased and proud to present a Dramatic Reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, December 11 at 3PM. This beloved story refers to the stark poverty of many in Victorian England - and echoes in the poverty of some in our own time and in this city. To help raise funds for the Centretown Emergency Food Centre, many well-known voices will read from the story including: the CBC's Rita Celli and Alan Neal, Mayor Jim Watson, Environment Minister Catherine McKenna, Actor Kate Hurman and Great Canadian Theatre Company artistic director Eric Coates. Directed by playwright and actor Janet Irwin, with musical interludes by the Knox choir and organ, the performance here at Knox, on the corner of Elgin and Lisgar, promises to be an outstanding start to the Christmas season.
Tickets, $15 ($5 for children under 12) are available on Eventbrite.
