Rev. David Thom, B.D.
The Reverend David J. Thom was a Minister of the Church of Scotland for twelve years, before being called to Ottawa and Knox Presbyterian Church.
Educated at the University of Aberdeen, David completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Divinity and achieved postgraduate diplomas in both Ministry and Pastoral Studies with Applied Theology.
As part of his parish responsibilities in Scotland, David has been a Governor to a children’s nursery and Governor and Chaplain of a primary school and a high school Chaplain.
He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, reaching the rank of Major, and was commissioned as a Reserve Forces Chaplain, working with both Cumbria Army Cadet Force and with 105 Royal Artillery (Volunteers). In 2008, David was awarded the Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria’s Certificate of Merit for work with Cumbria’s youth.
David has been married since 1997 and is the father of two children.
