Mervyn Games
Mervyn Games was educated at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1971. Further studies took him to the Accademia Chigiana, Siena, and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome, where he studied with the world famous organist of the Vatican, Maestro Fernando Germani.
In 1975, he immigrated to Canada and held posts subsequently at Ridley College, St. Catharines; St. James Cathedral, Toronto; St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, the University of Western Ontario and the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Halifax. He has been Director of Music of Knox Presbyterian Church, Ottawa, since 1993 and Chapel Organist at Ashbury College since 1996.
Mr. Games is a Fellow at the Royal College of Organists, London, England and an Associate of the Royal College of Music, and has regularly recorded for the CBC. His recordings The Organ of St. Paul’s and Canadian Organ Spectrum have been aired in Canada and the United States. His recording with the Choir of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London won the annual MacLean-Hunter choral competition
