First Baptist Church Ottawa at the corner of Laurier and Elgin Streets hosts a series of noon hour recitals Thursdays in March. All concerts are at 12:15 p.m. and admission is $5 at the door. The series features choral, chamber and organ music in the beautiful acoustics of this nineteenth century heritage structure. On March 10 organist James Calkin opens the series with a performance of works by Widor, Preston and Willan on the church’s monumental Casavant organ. On March 17 the University of Ottawa Piano Quartet will perform works by Bach, Ravel and Fauré. On March 24 Sara Brooks leads the Capital Chamber Choir in a program of works by Morten Lauridsen.
